KRU172 is a rap/hip-hop/bhangra duo based out of Chandigarh, India. It comprises brothers Navdeep "Nottotune" Singh and Harsimran Jit Singh "Lucky". They officially started their musical journey in the year 2007, releasing songs – 'Dil Di Rani' by Nottotune and 'L.U.C.K.Y.' by Lucky. Kru172 is one of the most impactful north Indian Rap groups in the underground Hip-Hop scene. One of the earliest Rap crews from Chandigarh, they have been innovative and trend setting ever since they took the mic. Delivering hit singles one after the other, they surely know how to rock the crowd. Soon after, they began making more commercial music, rapping to reggaeton beats, while adding bhangra and Punjabi folk elements to it. They called it 'Desi Reggaeton'. The duo's another single 'Get it on The Floor' (remix of DMX song) was a collaboration with 2Shadez, a rap duo, which became another party anthem for the youth. After gaining deeper understanding in hip-hop, the duo started including social messages in its songs. Kru172 was praised for trying to make "Not doing drugs" sound "cool" when in April 2014, they released their song "Sunlo Gall", which they produced themselves as well. It gave out a positive message of living life to the fullest, and staying away from drugs. The duo has collaborated on the project 'O.N.E. – The Album', which was an underground album by the rapper Roxy from Pakistan. The project aimed at promoting unity and peace across India and Pakistan, with the help of music. The album included hit tracks like 'Gal Sun Ja' by Jazz Dhaliwal (a remixed track of the original 'Gal Sun' by Jinx), and 'Put it Up'. Their recent song/video "Shehar Mera Chandigarh" has been making waves, becoming an anthem for people of Chandigarh. Shyamal Munshi chose medicine as his academics and is a well known plastic surgeon and has marvelled in the field of medicine too. His contributions in the field of cosmetology have helped his innumerable patients. But love for music is an eternal aspect of Dr Shyamal Munshi. He balances his time between being a surgeon and music. The Government of Gujarat has bestowed on him the very prestigious ‘Gujarat Gaurav Puraskaar.' Pratyaksh is an alternative band from one of the Union Territories of India, Chandigarh. The word 'Pratyaksh' means evident/visible. The band was established in January 2012 with just four members, namely, Himanshu, Ojas, Prithvi and Kunal. Soon Anuj and Dharamveer joined and they started with doing LIVE gigs and rock shows. They recorded their first demo 'Fitrat' in November 2012. Their first official song 'Kyun Kho Gaya Insaan', through which they tried to raise the concern towards women empowerment, was dedicated to the 'Delhi gang rape incident'. This song was critically acclaimed. In September 2013, Rupesh Nath 'Rayaaz' replaced Anuj as their lead vocalist.
