6ix MHz (Pronounced as ‘SIX MEGAHERTZ’) is a 6 piece band working to make music which can inspire the masses. Adding techno and trance to hard rock, we don’t stick to one genre instead we love to mix different genres. The band was formed in Faridabad by Ankit Arora (rhythm guitarist),Amit Singh (drummer) and Muzamil Yaqoob (bassist) along with our first vocalist Vivek Ahlawat in 2014. During the course of time, the band added two members, Mayank Badoni (lead guitarist) and Ajay Kumar Xess (synth player/producer) and then changed the name to 6ix MHz. Then after few months, Vivek Ahlawat left the band to pursue his goals as a solo vocalist. Then the band added a new vocalist, Niloy Roy in 2015 and continued the journey as 6ix MHz
There is a story behind the personification of COLOR BRIDGE. For any sort of creative work, one should look back intensely into the background of the creation. They are doing Funk and Soul music and if they don`t know the background of it then all their effective manifestations will definitely go in vain. From their journey they found that this music came from Slave culture. Side by side they came across with the word `lu-fuki` which means ‘bad body odour’. Many eminent African and Afro – American philosophers postulate that the word ‘funky’ has its semantic roots in the Kikongo word `lu-fuki`. They also believe that both Jazzmen and Bakongo tribe use the words `funky’ and ‘lu-fuki` to praise persons for the integrity of their art and to achieve their aims. As the day passed by and they got deeply involved into this matter, suddenly one thing struck their mind that they are also `coloured people` and they also have to deal with the same type of hazards in different manners in their so called mundane life. From that point of view one can say that they are the representatives of those people. Through their music they can preach their glory with dignity.
