While their profile as violinists grew in stature, the Violin Brothers had the opportunity to play under the direction of great musical maestros such as Pt Ravi Shankar, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and the pair also played background music in the last ten films of the internationally- renowned film director, Satyajit Ray. The duo received their diploma in music from Trinity College of Music, London, in 1987. They were fortunate to have the privilege to play for Zubin Mehta (the then-conductor of New York Philharmonic Orchestra) and received impressive recommendations from him. Initially, the Violin Brothers had their basic training in Indian classical music from their father, Sri Nikhilesh Roy, and later on, they had the opportunity to become the disciple of the Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. Besides classical music, they are open to different genres of music like pop, jazz and world music. The Violin Brothers have been performing with their group since 1998 in India and abroad. The most remarkable venues and forums where the two brothers have performed include Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Forum in Barcelona, various music festivals in France, Belgium, Morocco and the Paleo festival in Switzerland.
Abhisek Lahiri is a professional sarod player based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. He won the hearts of discerning audiences worldwide with his depth, maturity, and perfection by the age of 28. Abhisek was initiated in sarod at an early age of six and trained under the tutelage of his father as well as guru, eminent sarod player Pt Alok Lahiri. His sarod recital has a blending of three major Gharanas – Senia Maihar, Shajahanpur, and Senia Bangash Gharana (Gwalior). Abhisek’s playing reflects the aestheticism, subtlety, and nostalgic spirituality while combining it with resonant intensity and power to captivate the listener with the originality and beauty of his sarod. Abhisek possesses the dignity of performing in the Europe Parliament in France and Canada Culture Days in Canada on the invitation of The Malhar Group as the first Indian sarod artist along with his eminent father. Abhisek is an empanelled member artist of ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), New Delhi. Abhisek took part in the World Kinder Festival in Holland and enthralled the audiences as a wonder child sarod player in 1997. The Dutch Television network telecasts his recitals countrywide even now. Abhisek has some cassettes and CDs released to his credit. His solo CD album ‘Sparkling Sarod’ was released by Bihaan Music and received a nomination in Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) of Mumbai in Best Hindustani Classical Album – Instrumental category. His latest release ‘IONAH Trio’ CD album along with Japanese guitarist, Hideaki Tsuji, is also getting wide appreciation globally.

Francis Yee Lepcha is a Kolkata- based solo pop singer or track singer who started his musical journey in 1997. He was inclined towards music since the age of six and started singing in school. He won his first competition at the age of ten in his school’s talent contest. By the age of 18, Francis was a part of the band called Trishul, singing pop and rock covers in clubs all over Kolkata. In 2000, he joined Kolkata's leading pop band called Barefoot, comprising mainly of Anglo- Indian musicians who performed wholeheartedly.
