Momin Khan, is one of few artists today in India, who has fully devoted himself to the Sarangi and is a renowned youth icon of national and international repute. Momin is a valued member of Arijit Singh’s band, has given solo performances all over the world, and has already started his innings in Bollywood – has played for: Dabang 3, Gangubai and an upcoming movie: Abhyan. Momin has to his credit the honor of working with big banners such as Yashraj Films and Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions. Momin has worked with fusion music too and has accompanied the Father of India’s Jazz, Louiz Banks. Momin has also had the privilege of accompanying maestros such as Ustad Tafiq Qureshi, Pt. Yogesh Samsi, Pt. Satyajit Talwarkar, Ravi Chary, Ustad Fazal Qurshi, Gino Banks and more. Momin was born on Nov. 22, 1998 into a family of musicians dating back eight generations. He grew up in a Haveli where the sound of the tabla, sitar, sarangi, and other instruments, echoed throughout the day. As long as Momin can remember, the sound of the Sarangi was his "lullaby" (lori). Momin represents the Jaipur Gharana. At age six Momin began pleading with his father to teach him the Sarangi. His desire was so great that one night, refusing to eat, he stayed up until 2:30am waiting for his father's return so he could start learning the instrument Momin has completed BA in Classical Music (vocal) and Sarangi and graduated from the Bhatt Khande Music High School, Lucknow. When Momin was eight his father encouraged him to play at the family's musical gatherings. At age 10 he won the first prize at the Mahindra Bhat Music Festival, a statewide competition held in Rajasthan. Since then, there has been no looking back. Momin is the recipient of the Music Scholarship granted by The Sanskriti Mantralaya (Department of Culture, Government of India), has performed on Jaipur Doordarshan, stood first in the Akashwani Sangeet Pratiyogita, organized by All India Radio in March 2017 and many more. In Feb. 2018 Momin stood first and won the Gold Medal at the 33rd National Youth Festival, Ranchi. In Jan. 2019, Momin was awarded the Rajasthan State Government Award by the hands of the Hon. Governor of Rajasthan. At the young age of 14, Momin was gaining a national reputation and was selected to give a solo performance on the All India Radio National Channel, New Delhi. Given that Momin considers his father his biggest inspiration, role model and mentor, it was a dream come true when he was asked to give a joint performance with him at the Baba Hari Vallabh musical concert in Jallandhar in 2015. Padmashree Ustad Moinuddin Khan, Momin's father and guru, is the only master Sarangi player who was conferred with the "Padmashri" by the then President Hon’ble Shri Pranab Mukherjee on behalf of the Government of India. Momin spends around 6-7 hours each day doing riyaz (practice) under the watchful eye of his father cum guru. Padmashree Ustad Moinuddin Khan is the son and disciple of the very renowned Lt. Sarangi Samrath Ustad Mehboob Khan Sahab. At 22, Momin is the youngest Sarangi player to have received such recognition and success. Prathaa is a professional singer based out of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. A 14-year-old upcoming singer, Prathaa is trained in Hindustani classical singing by her father, Shri Aniket Khandekar, one of the most sought after music gurus of Gujarat.
